Full Interior Design

This is our main service offering – we offer sanctuary experiences. We believe space and its usage is like a six-course meal. When we design, we consider your emotional and mental health in a space as well as whether it is aesthetically delicious. We consider texture and colour, height, flow and function. For new construction or renovations we will work with you, your builder, or your architect to create your dream space. This includes everything from product design, choosing your cabinetry finishes to your counter materials, floor finishes and bathroom fixtures. We provide full, turn-key service, where we bring in our own team of talented trades people so that all that’s left for you to do is make decor and design approvals. While you await your transformed space, we manage the entire process including installation.
We provide these services to the corporate, residential and hospitality (your guest house; restaurant; bed and breakfast) industries.

Our full Interior Design service refers to a whole room, whole home or a block of rooms, where we create a design plan from concept to the final installation; managing the entire process for you. We pride ourselves in creating distinctive, completed spaces and as such. Full service applies even if you already own some of the furnishings that will be used.

1. Consultation Stage:
This Meet and Greet is to gain a better understanding of you, your space, needs and wants. The consultation is a very important first step. This means that every Buhle Bendalo Designs project begins with getting to know you – not just your space – and building the foundation of trust and confidence we’ll need to create magic together. The consultation is also a work session where we determine project scope, project timeline, project budget and assess feasibility. We provide ideas and guidance for your project and an overview of what you can expect during the design process - How we handle the design and research, how we work with contractors and trades, how we manage the products through to installation and how we communicate during the process.

This consultation is an ideal way to see how we would approach designing your space – and whether we are right for each other – without any obligation.

2. Planning Stage:
After careful assessment of your needs and the time and resources required to deliver a successful result have been evaluated, we prepare a detailed Design Fee Estimate, detailed Design presentation and Agreement. This agreement outlines the scope of work for the entire project, our design intent and goals, the estimated design fee, the payment terms, the estimated timeline, and the terms and conditions.

3. Presentation and Refinement Stage:
This is an exciting day! A second meeting is held to present the design concept (a mood board with furniture, finishing and space layouts). This meeting gives the client the opportunity to refine and add to the presented design where needed and for us, an opportunity to show you the full potential of your space as well as the best ideas to address your needs and desires. Itemized costing is presented and a retainer is required to start the formal design process. We never want to overwhelm you – we bring the one best option that we believe will work for you because we have taken the time to listen. An agreement is also handed over to you for review.

This stage will only be completed once the client has signed off designs, finishes, costings and timelines.

4. Execution Stage:
Sourcing, Manufacture & Production. Within this stage, the client has paid a deposit which allows manufacturing to commence. The sourcing, manufacturing and production of all items discussed in Phase 3 will begin with a timeline conveyed.

5. Finalization Stage:
Once manufacturing and production have ended, the project will be installed and completed. Installation, Completion, Photography and Hand-Over. On large-scale projects, Stage 4 and 5 run concurrently. The project will then be closed out.
